CAA Summer Challenge Thumbnail Sketches 11-21

I've completed more sketches using the silhouettes I created. I tried to draw these sketches quicker than my last lot but it still took some time.

I've decided to start drawing a little smaller to help me get through these a little easier. I've also considered possibly drawing them digitally as this could be good practice.

I think my ideas are starting to become more creative. I quite like 12, 14, 17 and 21.

My next step is to focus on creating more machines and structures because I am favoring life forms more. I'm also going to create more silhouettes because they're a really useful tool.

CAA Summer Challenge Silhouettes 1-10

Here are the silhouettes I put together based on the objects we were given.

I think I've managed to create some interesting shapes here that I could create some unique concept sketches from. I've already thought of some ideas and I hope to draw these up soon. I think this is a good method for generating ideas and I'll be sure to use it again if I'm stuck!

CAA Summer Challenge Thumbnail Sketches 1-10

Upon hearing about the Computer Animation Arts Summer Challenge I knew it would be an interesting and challenging project. 101 concept drawings is a difficult task especially when you've only got a selection of objects for an influence.

I first started by intensely staring at the objects trying to see if there was any shapes I could work with. I was trying to find simple ideas to help start my drawing process.

These are the first 10 sketches that I have done. I've marked lifeforms in pink, machines in blue and structures in green. From my simple ideas some turned out quite strong whereas others just didn't seem to be on the same level.

My favourites here would have to be 1, 3 and 7. I would possibly like to expand on 7 and fix problems with it.

My next move is to create some silhouettes and use them as inspiration to create more concept sketches.
